I didn't write SHORTSTOP as a protest video or with social issues specifically in mind. I didn't write it for anyone in particular. However, in the lyrics and in the energy, I think there is a call to action, something I think alot of people are feeling these days. I think alot of people are feeling the turmoil, the tension, that as a black man I used to believe I was alone in feeling. I'm grateful that people of all ethnicities and religious or societal beliefs are standing up for my life and the lives of black people.
